Job Title: Peer Educator (Part Time)

Job Duration: until 30 June 2016 (renewable)

In general

Collectif Arc-En-Ciel (CAEC), a non-profit NGO fight against homophobia and discrimination based on sexual orientation is looking for motivated, dynamics and passionate people for its prevention program.

* Assist in the design and implementation of new strategies for the improvement of projects (Field and digital)
* Assist in identifying new sites and strategies of intervention to be included in the projects
* Peer educators will work in collaboration with the outreach workers and outreach coordinator

Job Description :

Field and Digital :

Identify strategic sites about the project
Prepare and plan outreach’s interventions on the field in advance and relates to outreach workers
Field: deliver the following package to each person met:
* Educate MSM and TG upon the use of condoms and lubricant with the opportunity to obtain female condoms upon request
* Promote HIV testing by referring to testing facilities
* Provide information on STIs, HIV and risks associated to unprotected sexual intercourse
Organize prevention sessions according to strategic data (location, time, etc.)
Collect data and issue of field by the PE’s
Conduct prevention sessions on digital (website, social media)

Data :

Fill in the data sheets systematically with accurate data collected during field interventions

Training :

Participate, as required, in meetings and trainings , including HIV rapid testing and peer education

Support :

Counsel and follow the beneficiaries in the protocol parameters of the project
Refer any health / social / psychological complications among beneficiaries to the Outreach coordinator
Inform his/her supervisor of each situation
Update personal files for better case management

Qualifications and Requirements :

● Commitment to HIV/AIDS and health systems strengthening.
●    Easy contact and communication with KAP’s and the public in general
●    Possess an empathetic and caring attitude towards clients
●    Be non-judgemental and supportive
●    Ability to network with key informants from the community
●    Be comfortable working with clients who are often marginalised and stigmatised
●    Able to exercise flexibility in their tasks
●    Able to cope with unfamiliar situations
●    Able to work irregular hours when needed
● Being a good team player
